In the enchanting Garden of the Hesperides, a magnificent tree with fine golden fruits grew: this orange tree – son of Gaea, the goddess of earth – was destined to be bought as a gift to celebrate the marriage of the king and queen of the gods.

Nothing could imprison the enveloping scent of its succulent fruits and pure white flowers, which were so intoxicating as to forever enrapture Zeus’ senses and trigger his frenetic jealousy.

Only Hera, his royal wife, could subdue his vehemency: sometimes she chose to tame him with her sweetest and purest heart, imbued with the lovely notes of rose and jasmine, and other times, lashed out against him and his human offspring as her more furious side took over, inflamed by green cassis and a crescendo of intense and earthy end notes.
