Pompeii, a city buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius on October 24, 79 AD, was preserved under a blanket of ash that froze its soul in time. Thanks to excavations promoted in the 18th century by King Charles III of Bourbon, wonders emerged that testify to the cultural richness of the city. Among these stands the House of the Perfumer, or Garden of Hercules, a magical place where herbs and flowers were transformed into precious ointments for the Roman aristocracy.
